MANAGING RISK IN AN ENGINEERING FIRM

Description:

In the litigious society in which we find ourselves living today, every professional consulting engineering firm in practice today is at risk of being dragged into a lawsuit, whether "at fault" or not.

Therfore, it is important --- it is critical --- that every professional consulting engineering firm be informed and educated relative to the means and methods necessary to ensure management of that risk.

The bad news --- even if every reasonable risk management mean and method is employed, there is no guarantee of avoiding litigation.

The good news --- if engaged in litigation, simply having employed these credible risk management means and methods will aid to reduce the exposure incurred.

Presented By:

Mr. Jeffrey Cavignac, CPCU, ARM, RPLU, and Managing Principal, represents Cavignac & Associates, a San Diego insurance brokerage firm, which he started in 1992.

Mr. Cavignac grew-up in San Diego, attending Patrick Henry High School.  He graduated from UCLA in 1980 with a bachelor of science degree in economics.

He began his career in the insurance industry with Lloyds of London, but returned to San Diego to eventually join his father, who was a partner in a local insurance brokerage firm.

The focus of his firm is on risk management.  He realized that to best support his clients, he needed to develop means and methods to lower the frequency and severity of claims against them.

Thus he created what he calls "The TotalRISK Approach", and "The TotalBENEFITS Approach".

His intent during this meeting presentation is to share with us the generic risk management means and methods he employs every day to aid/better serve his clients.

Please join us for what will be a most informative and educational presentation.
