Best Practices for Designing Efficent 21st Century Laboratories
Description:
Specifying low-pressure-drop design for a laboratory’s ventilation system has great potential for energy savings. Pressure drop should be addressed throughout both sides—the supply and the exhaust. This presentation will address several strategies for reducing the pressure drop in each component of an air distribution system, including air handler coils, energy recovery devices, VAV control devices, zone temperature control devices, ductwork, and exhaust stacks.
Presented By:
Dennis Shea is the Business Development Manager for ThermAir Integrated Technologies in the San Diego market. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, class of 2002. Dennis has over 15 years of HVAC industry experience. He has previously served as ASHRAE San Diego Chapter President (2018-19), and currently serves on the ASHRAE San Diego Chapter's Board of Directors. In addition, Dennis currently serves as President of the San Diego Chapter of I2SL (International Institute of Sustainable Laboratories). In his free time, Dennis enjoys golfing and attending concerts with his wife Amelia.
